It is so sad to learn about the premature departure of wonderful persons.
Uwe was so friendly, so open minded, so calm and systematic at work, and his charge of kindness and sympathy was so large, that it leaked from everywhere despite his not small physical, terrestrial container.
As an ESA ATV project member for 20 years I have had the privilege to appreciate for a long period his unique qualities, and I have also had the chance to share with him some nice, extra professional moments.
Likewise all my former ATV colleagues, I deeply regret his loss and will keep forever his name and his smile in my heart.
